Meet META Scholar Beatrice
Beatrice is a sophomore at Harvard University, studying Biological Engineering.
She studied in Italy this past summer and shared the following with us at the time:
"This summer, I am studying in Italy! I bask in the orange-glow that reflects off the blue-green water around Venice- a city above water! At times, you can see me contemplating the practicability of various philosopher's principles and questioning our relationship with nature or studying the various aspects of the climate system that challenge our understanding of how carbon dioxide emission affect our approach to protection of our cities. I have learned to be more independent and redefine myself as I experience new parts of this wonderful journey."

Meet META Scholar Gerson
Gerson is a sophomore at UC Irvine, majoring in Civil Engineering.
"I have a better understanding as to how things work. I will use what I learned and use it to strive for even greater excellence. I am also excited to join an engineering club called "Engineers for a Sustainable World." Every year, around four groups are formed in which each group embarks on their own project to help better the school's community using engineering to plan, design, and construct a device that helps conserve electricity, water, or to better the environment in general."
