The META Foundation, in partnership with Small Green Door, is pleased to announce “LA Artists for Scholars” – an evening of art and appetizers benefitting META’s 90 Latino college scholars. This exhibition will feature a curated selection of paintings, photographs, and sculptures from rising and established Los Angeles artists.
LA Artists for Scholars will be on exhibit for one night only where all of the artwork will be for sale by silent auction. The reception and art auction will be held on Saturday, March 10th from 5:00 - 7:30 pm at Small Green Door. A sampling of appetizers from local chefs and craft beer tasting flights from Inquisitor Brewing Company will be provided. Small Green Door is located at 2075 South Atlantic Blvd. in the city of Commerce, CA – 15 minutes south of Downtown LA.
The Suggested Minimum Donation to attend this event is $20 per person. Thanks to generous artist donations, 100% of the proceeds from ticket and art sales will go directly towards supporting META’s Scholars in their efforts to earn college degrees.
Veronica V., a META scholar at the University of La Verne, recently told us “I am the first student in my family to both graduate from high school and attend college. I am a passionate and ambitious student who is determined to make a change in my community. Photography has become a new discovered passion in college, and I believe that photography can speak louder than words.”
The META Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides mentorship and scholarships to Latino youth in Southern California, with the vision of increasing the opportunities for Latinos to become successful business and community leaders.
